Simply incredible. The service was second only to the food which is the absolute feature of this find of a restaurant. Chef Michael mccloud made incredible recommendations and accommodations for one of our guest with a nut allergy. The atmosphere is exactly as expected and the kitchen created magical parings. I had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection. I wish we had a place like this back home!
I've dined at hundreds of eateries, ranging all the way from diners to Michelin star restaurants. Trust me when I tell you, this was the greatest food experience of my life. From the moment I walked into the door, the service was nothing short of exceptional. The host, the server, and especially the food were all parallel to none. Chef Michael McCloud is a prodigy in the kitchen; everything I ordered was the best I've ever had. He even came out to our table to introduce himself, a gesture slowly fading from fine dining. Had my birthday there April 8th. The place was unbelievably amazing. The food was delicious and the owner Keene addington was very accommodating with the 25 people who attended my birthday. He definitely helped me have the best birthday dinner ever! This place did not disappoint. I will definitely be coming back here!
The Tortoise Supper Club is a Chicago classic that we had to try. We heard about the great food and jazz. The food was delicious! The service amazing. The jazz was playing in the bar and we were in one of the closed dining rooms. Unfortunately, we couldn't hear it. That was the only disappointment of the night. The dining room was quieter and nice for talking and catching up with friends.
A Fantastic place the staff were really friendly we had the best food and the ribs were absolutely amazing we will be back

My daughters & I had a fantastic time! Food was excellent & the whole dining experience was very nice! The owner is very attentive & you can tell it shows with entire staff! Also, the restaurant has lot of historical artifacts from Chicago which made my experience even more enjoyable!
Business response:
Thanks Angela! We are so glad that you and your daughter had a fun night! We are happy you appreciate the history inside Tortoise. Much of the artwork and artifacts are from our own family archives, which both run deep through Chicago. Anytime you would like to hear some stories, just ask! We love being able to share them with our guests. Thanks for dining with us! Cheers!
