The food is terrible, the owner is rude. Have never sent back food until I ate here. In the ocean state, the seafood should not be frozen. Used to be a nice restaurant, but not anymore.
Good food. Green butter that comes with butter is better than crack. Great area and atmosphere. Had swordfish and it was good not great. White chowder was excellent. I would recommend.
Excellent food and a nice experience. I recommend the calamari! The view isn't too bad either! This place is a hidden gem that you should try!
Flown in from Houston last Sunday, been in town for ten days. Family and I have been twice. Fish, chowder and other entrees have been great. Waitresses both times have been fine. Hostesses need to drop attitudes! If you make a mistake own up to it!!!
Pro: Food is wonderful! Red Clam chowder is the best!! Rico the waiter is the best. The owner and his wife ate pleasant and accommodating. This place has changed for the better. The view has always been beautiful! Con: The large room downstairs is cold. Bring a sweater!
Wow has this place gone down hill. We just went for Mothers Day and couldn't believe how bad it now is. The food was mediocre at best. We requested a table near the window for my 88 year old Mother inlaw and we were put at the opposite end near the buffet. The chaffing dishes were always low or out of food. Don't just go for the view.. We had wanted to try a restaurant other than this one, but the friend we were meeting had advised us against the other restaurant after having had a terrible experience there on Mother's Day. So we suggested Top of the Bay, because of the high praise for the view, in spite of the mediocre/mixed online reviews of the food. Scrod. My 14 year old could not eat this since it was bland and soggy! Even the salad was left by everyone at the table. The food is just awful here. And I have NEVER left a negative review for any restaurant but this one. Just sad since it used to be a good place. -----13 Aug, 2011----- Spaghetti. WORST MEAL EVER. First of all, a worker (manager?) was extremely rude to a little girl in a wheel chair. Not only did he not move out of her way as she left, but he crossed her path and stopped to stare at her! I should have known then that we should have endured the line at Iggys instead.
