He explains everything, easy to make appointments, I never have to wait a long time in his waiting room.
The thing I like the most about Dr. Tonnies is that he has humility, and none of the arrogance typical of an orthopedic surgeon. He is kind, polite, and takes the time to explain things.
Shoulder surgery in 2014 on rotator cuff. Excellent office staff and Dr. Tonnies was excellent as well. Called me that evening to see how I was doing. 2021 now and shoulder doing great.
Poor performance for friend's knee replacement. He used a size 14 when she needed a size 10! He dismissed her complaints of pain and limping. She had a knee replacement by another doctor and is doing fine.
I have had shoulder arthroscopic surgery, knee arthroscopic surgery and trigger finger surgeries by Dr. Tonnies. I would not go anywhere else. What doctor calls you the night of surgery to see how you are doing? Dr. Tonnies does. Floored me the first time I got the call. I have had excellent outcomes from all my surgeries. Not patient focused. Physician Assistant, poor communicator, not truthful with plan of care for patient. When a question is asked, unfortunately, does not feel the need to have to be accountable and explain things. I am a medical professional and Can say, if you want, patient focused, quality care, go elsewhere. Your a dollar sign , not a patient. Fine Medical Professionals exist, just not here.
I got both of my rotator cuffs done with 100% Recovery. Dr. Tonnies and his staff are top notch. Excellence every step of the way.
I had a peroneal brevis tear repaired and my experience with Dr. Tonnies and his entire staff, including Peak Performance Physical Therapy, was excellent.
