Editorial fromThis family-owned place most likely had the first wood-fired pizza oven in the Bay Area two generations ago. To start, ask for the radicchio with pancetta and goat cheese. Get serious with pizzas and calzones from that well-used oven. The…

Best Pizza In San Francisco! – What can I say about Tommso's? Coming from the east coast, it is hard to find good pizza out here. Tommaso's is the absolute best in the city. It may even be the best I've ever had. My boyfriend and I go to Tommaso's almost every weekend (borring, I know). There is always a wait, which normally I can't stand, but for some reason I don't mind waiting here. They will serve you drinks while you wait. The pizza, which is thin crust and seasoned perfectly is well worth the wait. The coo-coo clams ar... read more

In addition to the fantastic food, try the new salad with spinich, nuts, thinly sliced parmeasan cheese, and balsamic vinegar. They got the recipe from their restrauant in Lake Como. Delecious.

Like Having Dinner With Family! – My husband and I have been going to Tommaso's regularly since 1990. It's one of our all-time favorite places in SF. This is a family-owned restaurant dating back to the 1930s and is a North Beach icon. Perhaps the greatest testament to their greatness is that we've seen the same faces since 1990 servers, busboys, cooks, etc. It really is like dining with family, from the moment we walk in the door and are greeted by Dario, Francesco, or Eddie, to the cookies and dessert wine brought to our t... read more

Pizza: as good as it gets – I will be honest. Except for appetizers all my girlfriend and I go for here is the pizza. It is delicious. You don't wait long for it. It is cooked in a brick oven. Thin crust. Pepperoni singed around the edges Service is good. They are on top of it because of the quick turn-over but we never felt rushed. . Nice little Italian restaurant.. I expected to find a gun taped behind the toilet. GO WHEN IT OPENS AT FIVE. Otherwise you will be waiting for a seat.

I'm made of Tommaso's – I have been going to Tommaso's for over 30 years and would highly recommend it as a San Francisco destination for great pizza and calzone, the coo-coo clams are a must try and the marinated veggie salads are delish! It can be very busy during peak hours so if you can't go early, put your name in, stroll No. Beach to get your appetite going, and be ready for some authentic fare. The prices are fair and you won't go away hungry. Who knows, maybe you'll be seated next to Coppola or some other SF icon.

A throwback North Beach ambience and classic pizzas define this neighborhood landmark. – The Scene A long row of squeezed-together tables running down the middle of this venerable eatery make Tommaso's a great choice for large groups--or tourists who don't mind getting to know their neighbors. For a little more privacy, ask for one of the high-backed booths tucked against the walls. In front of the kitchen, an old brick oven still does full-time pizza duty. The Food This is the Italian food everyone knows and loves: Chewy th... read more

Yummy Pizza – My first time there was a great experience. The pizzas come in the perfect crispy crust with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The ambiance, however, although very cozy and friendly was overly loud. I could hardly hear my boyfriend sitting across from me. Overall it's a good place if you're craving a true Italian pizza.
