Worst Japanese Ever! – I did not try Tomikawa since its opening due to lousy review of its service and food quality from my associates, although it is located within a walking distance from my house in North Irvine. My wife and I like to have Japanese food about once a week and we decided to try Tomikawa yesterday. In short, I am still upset at the experience that I am taking the time to write this review. The menu is overpriced for the food and the service. The service is the worst I have ever experienced and the young manager is unprofessional and argumentative. Worst service and rude manager – The manager is really extremely rude. He has an attitude and seems like he thinks hes the best. However, the chubby fat man was really rude and the sushi was not as good as people say it is. Last time I ate sushi that was like old. This place is not recommended to anyone especially thoses who hate poor service. If i could give no stars i would give none. Too bad.
mockery of a restaurant! – poor service and food: Forget getting refills for water. Treat it as a place where you have to grab the servers for every little need including taking your order, asking for the check, and boxing the food yourself to take home. Only thing of merit is the large non-traditional selection of rolls.
Avoid Like a Plague!!! I want my money back!!! – OMG, should never have gone to this place!! The waitresses are witches from hell!!! Don't expect ANY services and with no customer in sight ( I wonder why), it will still take 30 minutes for you to get your food at the sushi bar. Further, you will get a bill that is larger than you actuall ate (hoping I don't catch the extra phantom charges? go cheat somebody else!!). great food, bad manager – I used to go there a lot because the foods were great, but when I went last week, their head sushi chef was transferred and the manager was very rude. The manager didn't do any work, and the waitresses were not very professional. Sushi was still good, but they need to fire the current manager and bring back the old crew back.
SOLID sushi - without a wait! Tomikawa delivers top-quality sushi to its fans. Because the surrounding shopping center is still relatively new, the crowds have not yet discovered Tomikawa. Take advantage of this temporary condition and GO CHECK IT OUT -- the sushi is fresh! Lunch too.
awesome food HORRIFIC service – First off, the sushi here is without a doubt the absolute BEST sushi I have ever had. I have gone to other places and nowhere seems to match up even remotely. However, unless you plan on sitting at the sushi bar, expect your service to be very slow and not to get the perks that other sushi go-ers (by this I mean Asians) get such as soy beans. Best sushi rolls, no reservations on weekend, Good customer service~ – Best place to enjoy fusion style sushi! rolls were great~ i love all the rolls i tried so far! I went there with my friend and he loves this place. I go there at least 2 3 times a week!
