Pathetic Customer Service – This place has the worst customer service I have ever seen. The wait staff act like drones and do nothing to make you feel welcome. The manager is an arrogant jerk and is totally inflexible. He has a rule that you can't order a two item combo with the same item for both choices. I have eaten here 4 times and have had to plead with the wait staff to "bend" this ridiculous each time. Worst service ever – If I could give this place zero stars, I totally would. We had a party of 7 and they decided to charge us 30% gratuity. Are you effin' kidding me? I'm happy to pay 15-18% (the server, Nina, was very nice and sweet) but 30% is a little presumptutious no? Sushi is fresh and generous portions---but the box is great for traditional tempora and main course selections. What I would call best in value. gm
best lunch~japanese food My husband comes here for lunch at least once a week and can't say enough good things about this place. He likes to get the 2-3 item combos. Spicy tuna rolls, spicy chicken, Teriyaki salmon will not disappoint. With every lunch entree soup, salad and rice are included. The prices are ridiculously reasonable.
Will NEVER go there again!!! – Manager was VERY RUDE. Be careful if you're using a coupon! He didn't honor the coupon on the bill and tried to convince us he did. He argued with us while standing at the cash register and punched in random numbers on his calculator. When he finally realized his mistake, he didn't apologize and just shoved us the bill. Great Little Sushi Place I love going to Tomikawa especially during lunch because of their great lunch special prices! They have delicious food and variety in choices as well as wonderful, prompt service. I especially love their tempura! It's the best!
Tomikiawa Irvine, Worst Japanese Restaurant Ever... – Worst Ever !!! Don't know why they are still in business. Check this out! Had a coupon for "Buy one combo platter get one free" only good between 3:00pm to 6:00pm. We sat down at 5:55pm, the hostess said they would honor the coupon. We waited 5 minutes for a server. Now we are over the 6:00pm deadline. So guess what, they denied it. Good thing I had him check with the manager. So we got up and left. Do you yourself a favor and don't waste your time at this restaurant...
