Dr. Toch is an amazing and very personable psychiatrist. She takes an incredibly personal and empathetic approach to psychiatry and really takes time to get to know her patients. For example, she met with me during my intake for a whole 90 minutes to ensure I was on the best treatment possible. I couldn't recommend her enough.

I found Dr. Toch to be caring, a good listener, and very effective at managing my medications throughout a series of changes. She took the time to listen and get a good picture of what was happening for me, changed meds with my input considered, and encouraged me to get better in other ways as well. She was also essential in getting me set up with an excellent therapist.

Now that I have interacted with her 5 times, I can say that she does not listen as you talk, except to the degree that it helps her finish her patient notes that get her out on time for the day. She claims that she can pay attention at the same time she is facing her screen and not you, but after my last visit, I am certain that is not the case. She did not follow-up on an important call that I asked her to make; she blamed office procedures for that, even though she had the notes, ironically.

Rigid, box checker, doesn't listen to important things like family history of same problems (known to have heredity component). Arrogant. Does not try to meet patient halfway.
