For tourists, locals beware! – We happened to find ourselves at Harbor Place and needed to duck in somewhere to grab a bite for lunch. Unlike most of the other restaurants at Harbor Place, there were no wait at Tir Na Nog. This should have been our first clue that we were in for it. The menu is uninspired quasi-Irish food. It's way overpriced considering what you got. I ordered bangers and mash. The sausage was nothing more than regular breakfast sausage and the gravy can straight out of a can. There were some oversauteed gr... read more
I guess I'm the only one who hated it! – I think lunch, or even dinner for that matter, for a family of 4 should be less than $75.00 in a standard bar/grille. I found the food extremely over priced and the quality extremely poor! My daughter is 8 and rarely finishes a childrens portion of pasta, which is what she ordered from Tir Na Nog and we paid $7.00 for. She was still very hungry when she finished. There was no meat selection but chicken tenders when my son ordered and he ordered an adult portion hamburger. His burger a... read more
Bland food, poor service... but at least nobody got sick? – We had a poor experience. Walking into an empty restuarant at 9 pm on a Friday should have been a forewarning. Our waitress disappeared and we didn't see her for a good 20 minutes. She brought out our food and we were needing drinks, but didn't come back with them. Some of the food was cold so we had to wait to even be able to send it back. We had to alert another waitress to try and find our waitress. One dish was horrible and was sent back. The manager came out an... read more
Irish pub on the waterfront, very dark and quiet ambience, friendly staff – We were drawn in by the beautiful Irish decor, which seemed to be inspired by medieval castles and Irish folk-lore. It was sort of dark and mysterious, but felt a little artificial too. The staff were very friendly. We were a little surprised that this place offered restaurant-style seating but offered little more than expensively priced pub food. I ordered the Tir Na Nog shepherd's pie, which was something like $14 and not very good at all. It was a... read more
Great Irish atmosphere! – My husband and I went there on a Sat afternoon, and it was quite pleasant. I had the shephard's pie, and it was yummy. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was great too. We would go there again!
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Irish pub with New American cuisine boasts happy hour specials, live music and a view of the Inner Harbor.
Great food & friendly service. – Me and my husband just went here over the weekend for lunch twice and dinner once! We love it. They made us feel so welcome. My husband had the Fish and Chips all three times! I had some different items including delicious Mussels. They had some irish bangers(?) chopped up in there that really made it tasty. The staff were great, they remembered us & bought us two Guinnesses for coming back for the third time in two days. It really made our getaway weekend.
Finally a REAL bar in the Harbor. – We have been waiting for a bar like this to hang out in the summer days for years. We were sick & tired of trying to hang out at bars that were pokey little bars with 5 or 6 stools, packed with people waiting for tables to open up. I'm glad to say, now we have it. Great beer, food & atmosphere. The staff are helpful, funny & out-going. Love this place. Great place to waych U of M play, great TV's.
Poor Service – Wednesday night, plenty of staff, no crowd. Placed a simple order for two with the following results - Our drinks were not delivered until after the entree was placed, the soup was served with no spoon.. and none available on the table. The server said he would come back with one, but never did. This is a place where the waiter takes the order, but others serve it. In this case it seems the staff that busses the tables, also serves the food.... and language skills were a barrier to good service as well. I woul... read more
