UNFRIENDLY, PHYSICALLY AGRESSIVE STAFF!!! – I used to be a big fan of this place until my last visit there. I showed up with a few friends for a nightcap at around 1:40am, 20 minutes before closing time. We ordered drinks and within 1 minute the lights were on and they were herding people out. A large, ugly, very unintelligent, blonde-haired meathead bouncer walked up to me and told me to chug my beer. I told him that we'd just bought these drinks not more than 1 minute ago. LOVE THIS PLACE – I absolutely love Tipsy Clover!! The door guy is friendly and always let my friends and I in. We don't know his name but we never have to wait in line =). The bartenders are fast and the music they play is good. I actually think they have better music spinning than some of the clubs around there. the people that go there are very friendly and down to earth. none of those pretentious people u would find at esco or the drake etc.
bald guy needs to go – I've been to this place numerous times and the last time I tried going the bald guy at the door didn't let us in because of god knows what reason. I happened to be with a new set of friends that night which I recommended to this place and the bald guy didn't let us in. My guess was because of the crowd I was with. They were all minorities. Nonetheless apart from the guys up front, this bar is one of my favorites because of the music. Just hope you don't get counted out based on who you're with.
Crowd Control In Full Effect – Let me start out by saying that the first time I went to this place my friends and I had a great time. We had been rejected from Red door on my female friends birthday on some bulls@*t and the manager(owner?) some bald buy heard our story let us in and even bought us a round of shots. Best. Bar. EVER! – I love this Bar! It might have something to do with the fact that my best friend is a bar tender (AMY), but this bar would be awesome non-the less. The staff, atmoshphere, and social scene are all great. Be careful though, cause if you show up after 12 you might have to wait in line. Still its a great bar!!!! And the girls are HOT!!!!!
great bartenders that know how to pour a drink! – My first time out to the Tipsy Clover was last Saturday. I was welcomed in by a huge Fred Flintstone (Halloween Party night). social atmosphere – not a dance club but good place to socialize. average drinks. sometime a bit crowded. way better than the club right next to it, red door.
Really cool, trendy AND relaxed... you don't see that every day – This place is located really close to my favorite mexican food restaurant, so already that's a big plus. And, althought there was a short line at the door last time I went, it's a relatively casual place, but the demographic it seemed to attract was not that of sloppy people at all. Way too much fun – My friends and I love this hot spot. I miss the couches they once had but the patio has been increasingly more enticing. The guys that hang out there are either hot and harmless, or cute and conceited but the owner, STEVE, is always up for a good time, and makes sure that you do as well. The Dirty Martinis are pretty good, but expect the attractive people to be served first. The crowd is mixed but often you are able to find both a good time and some beautiful people!
