When a new HVAC system is installed, it is recommended that a new filtration system also be installed that matches the system. Filtration systems protect the HVAC system and building occupants from pollutants in the structure’s atmosphere.

If you do not have them, you should have carbon monoxide detectors installed in your home or business, as well as smoke detectors. Check them twice a year – usually when the time changes in fall and spring.

Old heating and air-conditioning systems can start to nickel and dime you to death through increasing energy costs and more frequent maintenance work. If you notice bills rising and the system needing service more than twice a year, it is time to consider a new system installation to bring costs down.

Buying a heating and cooling system that fits your home is very important. If you have an oversized system, it will not work efficiently, cycling on and off frequently, but for short periods of time. This will lead to a higher utility bill.

So how do sealed combustion gas furnaces work? Here, air is brought into the furnace from the outdoors, eliminating indoor air from the combustion process and reducing the loss of the air in the house that has already been warmed.

Be sure that you know how to properly clean the filter for your heating and cooling system. Whether it's a permanent filter that can be washed or one that can be replaced periodically, proper filter care will extend the life of your system.

Ventilation includes both the exchange of air with the outside as well as circulation of air within the building. It is one of the most important factors for maintaining acceptable indoor air quality in buildings. Methods for ventilating a building will differ.

The type of HVAC design and system that you need for your commercial space is going to depend primarily on the type of business you are running and the subsequent floor plan and design of the building. For instance, there will be different requirements for an office space than for a warehouse or healthcare facility.

If your gas furnace has a condensate pump and you are experiencing issues, make sure that the reservoir is not full. If you find that your reservoir is in fact full, the pump will most likely need to be replaced. In addition, the float switch may need to be repaired as well.
