I am a communications professional and have been pleasantly surprised to see how Tideland has handled the public relations aspects of this very unfortunate and very public crisis! One of the few public controversies I've seen recently that were handled this well! Multiple ways of communicating, frequent updates, upbeat, very attentive to every comment. Pretty amazing!
I am very proud of the lineman journeymen who worked tirelessly to restore power to OBX and Ocracoke Island! I wait all year to visit Ocracoke and thanks to them I am able to go tomorrow as planned! It is a very stressful and demanding job...my ex husband was a lineman. I also think Tideland did a superb job on the updates! I have cried, prayed for the workers and the locals, and smiled (at the church feeding the crews). Ocracoke is my favorite place...it is where I feel at home even though I am from Iowa.
