DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE UNLESS YOU CHECK IT - DEFECTIVE – I purchased merchandise from Tia's Place. When I got home, I saw the sticthing was frayed --- it looked like it had been used. I tried returnign the items and the owner would not return them. I was really disappointed in the place. They have nice stuff, but you have to look it over very carefully, in a well lit place, as the item could be seriously flawed, below quality standards.
DAMAGED ITEM - WOULDN'T RETURN MY MONEY- owner's mom is rude – I live close to Tia's, so I popped in to look around and purchased a purse. When I got it home, I noticed that at the bottom of the purse the stiches were coming out. The next day (less than 24 hours later) I brought the purse back with the tags still on it and the receipt still in it. They refused to refund my money and referred me to the 5x7" sign hanging 3 feet back and 3 feet to the right of the cash register. They also noted that my receipt noted they had a ... read more
tias place, jersery city, nj – i love tias place it is filled with a great selection of denim, dresses and a variety of different brands. i know i can stop in tias and find anything from a candle to bring to dinner house party, new accessories to help change up that favorite dress of mine (that i of course i bought at tias) or just pick up a new top at a reasonable price. the staff very friendly and helpful. it is great addition to down town jersey city and i have been shopping there for last 5 years.
RUDE owner – When I first moved here I loved looking around in Tia's place. The staff seemed nice but the owner was so rude! I bought a white shirt from them that I decided a few days later to return. Obviously I had my receipt and the tags were still attached. When the owner took the shirt, she inspected it thoroughly which I found a bit offensive, like she was trying to see something wrong with it. Great trendy store in downtown Jersey city – Tias Place is a wonderful addition to downtown city. It has fab staff and the buyer is excellent. They know all of the locals and give you space to shop while providing excellent assistance. I am a "regular" and have never felt likt they followed me around. They do come upstairs when I go upstairs, but I feel as though it is more to assist me...I love it! ALso the owner is fab and so is her mom who woorks there and helps out.
We do not live in Manhattan. Where does this shop come off charging Manhattan prices? I do not recommend giving this owner a penny of any of our hard earned money!!! The clothes are minimal, antique furniture? So they say!!!! The shopping experience here is more for fashion wannabee's! Do not go to this shop!
overpriced store – 0 stars dedicated to this overpriced shop in downtown Jersey City! If all the items were half the price they currently are now then MAYBE i would consider going back.
I agree with the last review – I do not typically go on sites to write these sorts of things, however, I took a walk over to this store about 3 days ago after visiting a nearby relative and experienced the same rudeness as our last reviewer stated. I won't get into the fact I was followed all over the store. What I will say is that every table and every chair / couch had a sign on it asking not to sit. RUDE staff; watched like a hawk while browsing the store – When visiting a friend for dinner one night recently, I strolled into trendy boutique Tia's Place to look around, since I had heard good things about it. As soon as I walked into the store, several store clerks greeted me, which I took as a positive thing, at first.
