Caveat Emptor – We took our vehicle into the Thorson dealership for routine maintenance prior to a trip. This was a well-maintained vehicle with about 80,00 miles. Their original estimate was a reasonable few hundred dollars. During the day, the dealer called us multiple times - each time raising the cost of repairs. RUN AWAY!!! They would not listen to the issues I had with my new Denali, gave it back to me saying the squealing brakes and slipping transmission were "normal". Maybe that is why GMC is going under!
Service Department is terrible! Everytime I go to Thorson Motor Center I always have to take my car back because there is something else wrong with it or something was installed incorrectly or improperly. I only continue to take my car back because it is under warantee. I will never buy a Pontiac again! Every tiny thing I need to get repaired there takes all day to accomplish. You can never wait for your car to be done because every issue takes the entire day. What a waste of time!
Service Department Everyone always says, "stay away from the dealer, they are too expensive." I was put into a situation whewe I was "stuck" into useing a local dealer. Well, let me be brief, with the experience that I had at Thorson's, I WILL NEVER AGAIN use an "independant" dealer. The product knowlege that these people have is awe-inspiring. Pushy salesperson did not listen to our "NO", kept calling us. At first we liked how they were trying to meet our needs, but when they did not have what we wanted they did not want to take "No" for an answer. They pestered us with phone calls and tried to make us feel badly for turning them down. They do not seem to know about good customer service.
Are any dealers really trustworthy? This is a good dealer (as far as dealers go). I have had good experiences so far. The service department seems fairly honest. I have had hardly any problems with the car I purchased through Thorson, and I continue to have it serviced at the dealer.
