Huge thank you to the entire team at Thompson Austin — from the front desk to the housekeeping, everyone was welcoming, polished, and genuinely kind. But what truly made my stay special was Ever at The Diner on the first floor. He was the reason I stayed in the hotel for breakfast every single morning. Service like that changes the whole experience. Absolutely top tier. 👏

I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent stay at the Thompson Austin this past weekend (February 20–22). My wife and I booked this stay to celebrate our anniversary. As parents, we rarely get time away from our children, so we were looking forward to a restful and high-quality experience. Unfortunately, the stay fell significantly short of expectations. Ok! Where do I begin! When I booked this hotel, of course I go by the pictures online before I made a decision but once again, those photos were kinda misleading. I was not aware they have two different sections of the hotel, one sections is call the tommie section and other sections is Thompson i assume. They gave us the Tommie section. The room had no refrigerator, no microwave, was extremely small. This is the worst experience I’ve had in a long time (and I stayed ~100 nights at hotels last year and have been to Austin 10x). The rooms are close to a very busy partying street in Austin and have very thin walls so they are incredibly loud. When a hotel gives you ear plugs in the room, that should be your first sign to steer clear. It’s almost 1AM and I’ve been moved from a room facing the partying street to a room above the pool, where I can still hear the bass from the street AND conversations going on next door!
