When the doctor looked at my skin condition that I was very self-conscious about, which I had already expressed to him, he said 'Oooo. Disgusting.' Was it a joke? I don't know but I didn't find it humorous then or now. There should be mutual respect between physicians and patients, as the medical code states. The comment was not only unnecessary; it was inappropriate and hurtful. Did he help me? I'm not sure---time will tell.
After suffering for years, with many different physicians unsuccessful attempts/approaches, Dr. Potter figured it out. I am very grateful for his knowledge and help.
I had seen Dr Potter for decades and slowly lost faith though he's a pleasant guy. Only reason a lot of us stayed is he had a great assistant who is now gone. Appointments are 4 months out and he or his office never schedule follow ups even when asked so you need to wait for a referral from your primary. A new dermatologist who landed recently on island immediately booked up and no longer accepts new patients to give an idea of the need. I had an alarming growth on my shoulder that I was concerned about. After making a few calls to try to see if I could get scheduled upon any cancellations, I was able to make an appt w/in the week. Once arriving, I waited for less the 5 min. Colleen, who checked me in, was very friendly. Dr Potter was helpful, friendly, informative, and eased my anxiety. He was able to diagnose and care for my growth immediately. I was extremely pleased. Mahalo nui loa!!
Him and his staff treat people like they are important, very important, good sense of humor, pleasant to talk to and are fast and effective in clearing my issue with ease most of the time. I am not saying he is a miracle worker but close. He spots things on me right away and knows how to treat it. If I have a medical history, of allergies or medicine his nurse always looks it up to see if it will interfere with his proceeding treatment.
Overbooks doesn't take patients in order of appointment time That's rude and disrespectful of my time!
Be careful. He does not advise on the dosage and side effect of some of the medicatons he gives. Be sure no to take the Imiquimod cream if he give it to you. Very dangerous drug. Dr Michael Tait, says: "In my opinion, based on my observations and research, Aldara should be classified as a criminally dangerous material if used on any open or potentially open skin area."
