I've been seeing Dr. Jarvis since the early 70's: the only reason I have had to go anywhere else was for some root canal work after he discontinued dispensing nitrous gas in his office. His receptionist is wonderful, cheery and efficient, and both of them have excellent memories regarding patient history (even of the patients' other physicians, and over a timespan of 30 years) and he has shown sympathy for my fear of needles and has worked with me on ways to still get the work completed. Have been going to Jarvis for a couple years now. Never a problem. Definately very agreeable and appears to know what he's doing. Have received fillings and a crown. The offices in his location can use a guy who has a small business there making the crowns and such, so you probably won't have to have a temporary crown for too long. Not sure about prices as my insurance seems to dictate what a fair price is.
My family and I have been going to Dr. Jarvis for years now. His wife is the office manager and it is like a family atmosphere in his office. Dr. Jarvis cleans teeth himself and is VERY gentle and calming. He has a new partner who is less gentle but very competent. I would recommend him to anyone who values calm in dentist. If you're looking for a fast talking techno-dentist - this is not the place for you.
I have just had routine cleanings with him (3 times), but he is friendly and competent. He does the cleaning work himself rather than have a hygenist working for him. I definitely like him better than the other dentist I have seen.
Normally he sends out a card for 6-month exam notice but at my last visit, they made the appointment and didn't send a reminder. When receptionist called me the day before the exam and I told her I had not received a notice and did not have it on my calendar and could not make it, they insisted on billing me $75. I requested they waive this under the circumstances.
