Dr Heffernan was kinda detached and not interested since I was moving away from this area soon. I still needed his help because he was the first doc I saw who read my scan and gave me a cancer diagnosis. To seem uncaring did not feel good. Also, I went to Johns Hopkins and saw an OBGYN oncologist who said his diagnosis of ovarian cancer was not accurate. When my OB-GYN tried to complete my hysterectomy which included an enlarged uterus overtaken by fibroids she wasn't comfortable completing the procedure due to her concern for cancer and potentially damaging other organs. I live in a medium size north Texas city and was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer. The lab report suggested ovarian origin. My local oncologist started me on chemo and said surgery was not an option. After the third chemo treatment my husband and I decided to get a second opinion and we ended up in Dr. Heffernan's office in Plano. Dr. Heffernan came highly recommended. He was very calming, thorough, and answered all my questions. I am so grateful to have found him and my recovery from surgery was very easy due to his great skills.
Dr. Heffernan was very thorough and calming. He was explicit in my diagnosis, told me exactly the plan of action , prepared me for possibilities of treaments but assured me as well.
