Summary: My lumbar fusion by Dr. McNally resolved numerous symptoms and introduced NO new ones. Highly recommended. TLDR: In 2024, at 80 years I was having increased buttock pain and instability walking. Dr. McNally (and another back surgeon) diagnosed "Spinal stenosis of lumbar region" -- meaning a narrowing of the spinal canal in the lower back (L4-L5 region) that was seriously squeezing the spinal cord. Please don't waste your time and money seeing this Doctor. We were there for 2 hours for a surgical consultation. Dr. McNally said my situation was too complex and he had to think about it. The notes from his office visit indicated we discussed multiple things when in fact we discussed NOTHING. He was shaking his head and using his hands to indicate he was overwhelmed. I've seen multiple surgeons and this is a first! His nurse was not helpful and refused to give me any pertinent information. Now they want me to go back in th... read more
