Quality, selection and helpful printed information. We have alkaline clay soil and a steep slope. Always a challenge.

Theodore’s lifetime work in promoting Cali natives is an important insight into this early pioneer of sustainable gardening and drought tolerant plants. Introducing over 400 Californian native species into cultivation Theodore was passionate about the state he adopted as his own. He was also an early guerrilla gardener, taking over redundant plots to promote his nursery and seeds with vibrant mixes.

Largest and most varied selection of California native plants. Nursery staff is knowledgeable...and there are more natives available for sale than anywhere in LA.

I love it there. Nice gift store. Love the location. Been there twice this summer in the afternoon. Gets pretty hot to really walk around. I want to go back in the fall when cooler. Preferably in the morning. I just love the atmosphere out there.
