My friend & myself drove down from Myrtle Beach for the day & planned to have dinner at The Wreck before coming back. I had seen a posted review boasting about how good the food was there. It was disappointing, we've had much better. The staff was very pleasant & food very over priced!
Nice people and staff. Food was simply terrible and was presented in the sloppiest way imaginable with coleslaw on the plate oozing mayonnaise all over the over cooked red rice and the oysters were a blob of undercooked dough. The shrimp were ok and the she crab soup was loaded with shells. Didn't complain, just paid the overpriced tab ($24 for a combination shrimp and oyster plate). Loved the broken down charm of the place, but, in the end, it really is about the food for me and well the food was terrible!
Had a great time last night. The food was outstanding and the service was just as good. Will be eating there again in the near future.
Made the 2 hour drive down from Columbia for a Charleston day trip and to specifically eat at The Wreck based on a prior Facebook posting. Yes, the place is unique, however, the food was only slightly above average for a seafood restaurant in the heart of seafood country. A little pricey but the service and surrounding views were good. Limited menu selection...seafood!
Hard to find, but well worth it! Get the sampler!!
My experience at The Wreck was amazing. The food was delicious and service outstanding. Loved sitting by the fireplace to enjoy my meal. �
