TWI has been immensely helpful for me for the last decade on & off. I am so glad that they have expanded over the years, and am grateful for the funding that they receive that allows low-income women like me to get needed therapy. They have many caring counselors, and in my experience the men who volunteer there want to help however possible because they have women in their lives who have needed help at times. The Women’s initiative is a great service to the charlottesville community.
This as such an important resource for our community. The staff is warm, welcoming and respectful. I attended the mothering circle and found it sweet and supportive. I recommend them to friends and clients often.
You should be ashamed of yourself for the comments made by your board member. It seems counter productive to say your mission is to help women then insult a young woman because her father has different political views than your own. SMH.... You should be shut down immediately!
The words that your board member used on a 19 year old young lady is enough of a reason to never support this organization. Calling her a “f****** c**t” - and never condoning his actions.
