Do not go to this bar! I found a non-food item (read between the lines here) in my main entree and the french fries were soggy and cold. As well, the beer I ordered was flat! I had heard decent things about this venue, but I am sorely disappointed. It's really quite sad, as I had guests in town and was excited to bring them to this so-called cool bar. Home away from HOME! The prior review must be a bum because they don't let them in the Tavern! – I moved from Denver to Portland 1 year ago and one of the biggest things I miss is the Tavern. The bar was the tighest run ship of a bar that I've ever been too! If you had a problem they would take care. As a regular my expectations were always met, no special treatment but always the best after work 4-7pm 2-for-1 and midnight to 2am specials! WORST BAR IN TOWN!! – I agree with an earlier review of this place that said managment just stands around and does nothing, I could get better food across the street at 7-11. If you do decide to complain about your meal, be ready for nothing to be done about it! There is no good reason to go to the Uptown Tavern, save yourself a trip and go to the other 20 great bars in Denver.
Best Bar in Town – I visit the Tavern Uptown, perhaps more then I should. This is due to the fact that it is the best bar in town. I work in Denver and stop by for dinner, a quick beer or to meet up with friends. There is alway something good to eat. Best in the neighborhood – The Uptown Tavern really offers something for everyone. Featuring one of, if not the best patio in the area, which is fully covered in the colder months and then open air throughout the summer. The second bar on the patio really adds to feel like you're on a vacation when sitting out there as you can sit and lounge in a very appealing atomsphere. Great Wait staff, Horrible everything else. – If you can get over the pungent smell as soon as you walk through the front door, you have the warmest and slimmest selection of beer in Colorado to look forward to. Beyond that, the food is absolutely horrible, I had some artichoke dip that looked like it had been under the heat lamp for two weeks. Horrible management – I have been frequenting the uptown tavern for a couple of years. Every time I go there the managers are just standing around, no one has ever greeted me. The waiters and waitresses are great, but the bartenders could be a lot more friendly. Food is horrible unless youv'e had a few. The beer choices are very limited, Whoever decided what types of beer to carry doesnt know much about it. All the draft beer is warm and flat. A great place to eat, drink and relax – The Uptown Tavern is one of the best bars in Denver. The food is great and resonably priced, especially for the huge portions they serve. The drinks are right around the same price as they are anywhere in Denver. The staff is great and the people that drink there are friendly. Nice sized crowd – Came here for dinner on Halloween night. There was a nice-sized crowd. Not too crowded to actually get a table. I ate the spicy Italian sandwich which was a good sized meal for a great price. Tasted good too.
