Was a great meal at the Tavern in Old Salem. Had Pot Roast with mashed potatoes and string beans which are the epitome of comfort foods, but the best part of the meal was the chocolate bourbon pecan pie. It was awesome! Not too sweet (not sweet at all), the chocolate was very understated (because of the semi-sweet chocolates), and the crust was to die for! I had the Australian Syrah to pair with the pot roast. Perfect! The service was good and the prices were reasonable. We’d definitely return to the Tavern in Old Salem.
Being that we stayed in town we wound up eating three meals there, the price was very reasonable, the atmosphere fit in with the rest of old Salem and we enjoyed everything that we had here, especially the gingerbread and lemon icecream dessert! Our server Christina was outstanding as well!

Reasonable prices, big menu, adorable historic decor!
It was very good just don’t be in rush. Sit back relax and enjoy. The BBQ Brisket was awesomeness.
Rick, and his entire staff were very accommodating and profesdional. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. We all had different entrees and they were all delicious.
The food is always very good and has a romantic atmosphere!
