Wonderful food with a view. Though the parking lot was quite full, we were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. We sat in the outdoor area, and the breeze was nice. I had the shrimp and grits, the grits were creamy and the sauce and shrimp were very flavorful. Mom had the gumbo and a salad. The gumbo was “just right” and the salad was generous and very fresh! We ate dinner.... it was excellent.... Seafood platter and shrimp and grits. Awesome! Returned the next day.... just for fun... drinks and shrimp... looking out at the gulf.... again Awesome! Staying in Miramar beach area.... we will be back. Wait staff were excellent and friendly! Great spot and so happy that we discovered it!

Service was not good. Very slow. Had to remind the waitress several times each time we needed something. Took 20 minutes just to get drinks. The food was good though

I read all the reviews and thought... let's go! So when we found out there was an hour and a half wait, I had no problem. The hostess said there were tables in the back where we could order drink and appetizers while we wait. Got back there, got to a table, no waitress. We waited there for an hour before we went back to the front. Once we were finally seated, it took 20 mins to get a waiter to come check on us. We ordered, another 45 mins. We’ve been coming to Destin fir several years and never had tried Surf Hut til last night and it was AWESOME! Now it will be first on our list!
