Beautiful hotel with so much history! Stayed at the hotel with my grandparents when I was in the 4th grade for an antique car tour with the Horseless Carriage Club of America. My grandpa brought his fire engine red 1910 Stanley Steamer on the trip, which was so cool. Amazing memories! Hope to visit there again soon.
The ghosts!
The hotel is great and so is the town! I could easily spend a week or two here.
If you haven't been, go. We went on the Ghost Tour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. One of these days, we plan to stay for a few nights.
Victorian ambiance and architecture here has been wonderfully preserved! A delightful experience is waiting for you at The Stanley Hotel.
Beautiful Hotel!
I am utterly infatuated with this gorgeous hotel! The history of it is fascinating! It does bother me that the owners capitalize on the pop culture aspect (Kubrick's rendition of Stephen King's novel, The Shining, which absolutely NO part of was filmed at or around this hotel) and rumors of hauntings rather than the true history of the Stanley family. Out tour was AWESOME! The guide was very knowledgeable and absolutely hilarious!
The 1st time I stayed at the hotel I felt like I was staying with family, everyone was so nice and helpful. I caught a full body apparition with a ghost cat in the tunnel of the main hotel. That was just the cherry on top of my visit!
