Booked a table for 8:30 pm. When arriving 8:25 we were asked to wait in the bar. 9 pm I asked when our table would be ready and then they asked us to wait a little bit longer. What’s the point in booking a table when it’s clearly not available at the given time?

We came to S&W on our honeymoon recently as part of a wedding present/honeymoon treat. It became one of the standout moments of the trip where we had one of the best meals we've ever eaten and when we were treated like absolute royalty. Our friend Gennaro Pecchia recommended this restaurant for a NY experience when my French friends were in town. The food was extraordinaire (We ordered filet mignons). The service staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Thank you, everyone at the Smith & Wollensky! Will come back soon.

The one and only in New York City
We had dinner there tonight and the service from Rafael was awful! We never received our second round of drinks, our steaks were not properly cooked (over cooked) and never were checked on, and we all ran out of water before dinner even arrived. It even took a long time to get our food bagged up when we were done. I let the hostess know and received what felt like the obligatory “sorry you had a bad experience” On the way out.
