My daughter made an application inquiry. Per the website, it is a free process. It is advertised as a special. She signed the application and provided them with money.She contacted them 2-3 weeks prior to the start of classes and notified them that she would not be living at their location and would return to living in the dorms because she was not able to secure a guarantor to pay the rent. Political Extortion This company takes advantage of prospective student residents by requiring students to sign a binding contract during an initial tour. Rather a student chooses to live there or not, years later the Scion Group places a $8,000 collection on your credit report. Writing this review to bring awarness for future residents before signing their lease with Scion Group (Lark ***********. As a student resident, I had signed my lease before the pandemic hapened. I understand that is a year long contract, but with the pandemic and how much it has affected students, I wish they could treat the situation better. If I could leave zero stars, I would. First of all, Blvd98 (formerly known as University House) in Charlotte promotes itself as a indoor smoke-free establishment. This is blatantly false as the management refuses to penalise and even acknowledge the fact that residents smoke cigarettes and marijuana indoors. Will know about lack of safety and security according to Charlotte Mecklenburg City Code Chapter 11 and will blatantly ignore it then wonder why their properties are constantly on the news for shootings. On site management has false promises about improving security and brings people in by being a “well secure fob only building.” 95% of my lease the gates never locked and allowed anyone to come in.
