We had excellent service even though it was very busy, our food was very good, the atmosphere was very lively and we will be back! Oh, the hush puppies are out of this world!!!
I can’t possibly see how anyone rates them 5 stars. It’s a nice atmosphere before you get in the restaurant but other than that it’s awful. After waiting 2.5 hours for a table, our server botched a child’s plate and took 20 mins just to bring our check. We also discover we paid $30 for a tiny piece of fish and below average fries. Best advice to give anyone thinking about going here is buy a shirt and hang out for a bit before you go to any of the much better restaurants on the island.
My 13 yr old son ordered the burger and more or less wanted to lick the plate clean ���it was his only proper meal before he came down with a flu during our holiday, now back in UK and all he can talk about is your burger .... amazing food and super efficient service, looking forward to visiting you again next year �
Our service was very great! My boyfriend and I stopped by around 4 to grab a few appetizers to hold us off until dinner. We ordered the fish bites and hush puppies. We also ordered a pina colada and a beer. It was a little over $30. Little pricey but they were great quality! Not to mention, there’s usually some sort of music around dinner time and a fantastic view.
This is somewhere my family used to go all of my childhood and I got to go back with my children and it was exactly the same and brought back so many great memories ! Food and drinks were great and entertainment.
Food and service always excellent. The scenery on the water cannot be beat ! Love Salty Dog !!
I absolutely love this place! It’s is not dog friendly, but they have valid reasons why. Such as other aggressive dogs, untrained pets, people forgetting their dogs while drinking, the staff has many reasons and it is posted everywhere. I do not know why this is such a shock. The dogs are allowed EVERYWHERE else on Hilton Head Island just about. Service dogs are allowed though!

Let me start by saying for many years I have recommended the Salty Dog until today! They should rename it the Salty NO Dogs allowed! I went to eat there today and was told they are NOT dog friendly. You cannot bring your dog anywhere near the cafe. This includes all outside areas (deck, patio, picnic tables)! Unless it’s their dog whom I hear runs around unleashed all day! I will not return.
