Not much made it through the Great San Francisco Earthquake and Fire of 1906, but this bar did. There is a great story behind that. Reportedly, local firemen (loyal customers) diverted water from other locations in order to save this place. Its customer loyalty is just as strong today. Founded in 1861, it has as much history as it does popularity. Come for live blues and all the charm of a tradition that is over a century old.

Great place, great vibe, great band, great bartender who told us she's been there 31 years. Highly recommend stopping here if you are in SF
Can't wait to go pack!! Lively dive bar with great music, cheap drinks and a multitude of colorful characters!!!
Comfortable, friendly! Have big fun!
OLDEST BAR IN SF, The Saloon is a small, very informal, very friendly old dive and a great place to rock out and dance to live blues. The oldest bar in San Francisco, it is full of character and characters. No Cover charges and the drinks are cheap. The bathrooms are primitive and not for the faint-I always have a great time there - very fun.
The Saloon has a 4.6 star rating with 1,481 reviews.
The Saloon is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
