I was pleasantly surprised 😯 the food was delicious, I arrived with a group of 16 people and everyone raves about how delicious their meal was.
Today was yet another AWFUL experience at The Roost. For some reason we have subjected ourselves to the absolutely terrible treatment and service from the staff here again. We live in the neighborhood and try to support local places but I will not go back to a place that treats people this was from the server to the manager. The food took forever to arrive and then was missing sides and parts of the meal. Great spot with excellent food but when I realized you’re charged sales tax on your entire tab if you get any food item it could raise your bill by $5 - $10 or even more! I’m a foodie and visit many restaurants in the Lowcountry and haven’t found anywhere else that does this. Hopefully this can be corrected here. If you just get liquor or beer, no tax is shown on your receipt. Add food to that same “tab” and your entire “tab” is taxed.
