Not too shabby – Unlike some who think the "mongolian bbq" is past it's prime, the spot is pretty nice. And I've eaten at nice restaurants all over the city. It has a good vibe and when it's crowded, it's very crowded, so if you want a soft romantic dinner you might want to go elsewhere. Because you mix it yourself, and it's all you can eat, those who complain about the quality only have themselves to blame. The bartender's are friendly, the drinks are good, and portions reasonable (no the bowl doesn't look very big...but yo... read more
User review by uncangela – If you're looking for something new to try for lunch - this is the place! Be sure to give yourself some extra time (you may want to make your "lunch-hour" more like an hour-and-a-half), but the food and value is well worth it. On my first visit, I was wise enough to show up around 11:30am, and got through line very fast. However, on my second trip, I ended up walking in at about noon and had to wait a bit longer. The variety of dishes that YOU can make is a wonderful change from the same old lunch ... read more
The Best!! – The Real Chow Baby is now my favorite restaurant! The price is great so whether you come for lunch or dinner, you always get a great deal. Management and staff should hold a class for other restaurant owners on "How To Keep Your Customers HAPPY". The place is always clean and worth the wait(only had to wait once, a Friday night). Over 21? Try the "Part-time Lover", it's really good! Complimentary Valet!!
Much Ado About Mongolian BBQ Ruined – Mongolian BBQ is a fun concept but it is predictably sterilized in this made-for-the-Atlanta-yuppy setting. The trendiness of the locale and decor is not enough to overcome the poor service, the loud dining room, uneven quality of the cooked food (sometimes cooked well, sometimes not). I was excited to find a Mongolian BBQ place close to town but was disappointed at this restaurant's effort, quality and lack of soul.
So Much Fun and I can cook too – we were in on Saturday night the place was hopping. The Manager Carolyn was really helpful and our server Don was AWESOME!!!! I have not had so muich fun making Dinner in forever. It was our first time and Don went with us to the bar and help us through the line it was a bit overwhelming at fist but he mad it look and sound so easy. We had a great time I highly recommend Chow Baby's and you have to ask for Don he's the best. The Food and atmosphere was great also. I read some of the other rev... read more
bad thing from the 80's – in the mid 80's "mongolian barbeque" restaurants were " too cool" - at least in north jersey... but in reality they're just over-priced wack stirfry salad bar gimics... first you have to assemble all your food (which is about the quality of a bad super market salad bar) then some guy just dumps it on a habachi... yeeeaaaah! thats cool! how special! After that good luck hearing what anybody says next to you - it's stupid loud and annoyingly cramped... Anyway - there is a reason these places never mad... read more
Cool place, great food and value – My boyfriend and I ate here on a Friday night and we had a great experience- our server was sweet and attentive, the food was fun to make... and for $6, you can get a great cocktail or a martini, not like other pretentious places in Atlanta that charge $10 and up for a martini. The vibe was cheerful and upbeat, we had a great time!
A new casual place to dine – I consider myself a frequent diner in Atlanta. I've been to all the new/old places and I have to say, I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. I was looking for something a little more casual and someplace that wouldn't break the bank. The drinks are cheap, my martini was $6 and the create-your-own stir-fry was reasonable as well at $11.99. If you looking for someplace fun to hang out with a group, or just you and a friend, you should check out this place. We went on a Thursday night and waited about... read more
Worst restauraunt experience Ever – Service terrible - Not friendly, had to beg to get water. My date got the wrong wine and the glass had lipstick on it - not a smudge, an entire lower lip mark in red. Food was average - I have cereal bowls bigger than the ones they give you to fill up. Ran out of mushrooms before 8 on a Friday night - Ummm...ever hear of a grocery store? If going to a crowded place because you heard it was hip and getting food you could easily cook yourself is your idea of a great dining experince then thi... read more
