The name Pig & Whistle has had a place in British history ever since daily rum rations were issued to all men aboard Royal Navy ships in 1655. As the story goes, it was the job of the junior midshipman to go below to draw the rum for the shop's company from the barrels - called "pigs". One day the junior officer arrived on deck drunk with the rum for the duty officer of the day. Steve was our bartender, he was efficient and kind. The safety, concerning covid-19, was perfection; a best practice place for other restaurants. There was a person that greets you at the door, Lori, exceptionally friendly and she took our temperature. The fish and chips were out of this world!! accompanied with a Guinness Stout, yummy! 🥰🥰😘
My wife, daughter and myself were in the Cocoa Beach area for vacation and we heard a lot of good things about this Pub and I’m always a sucker for some great Fish & Chips and she always loves Shepard’s Pie. Always great food and service, plus daily specials. Homemade soups and desserts. Great place for dinner or late night grub after partying. Highly recommend!
In the midst of tiki bars and restaurants serving fish tacos, the Pig and Whistle serves pretty authentic pub food. Great fish and chips and shepherd pie. They offer lighter fare also, like grilled fish. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. They also serve a really great breakfast with real grits, yummy bacon, and large pancakes. They even offer an authentic English breakfast.
