The name Pig & Whistle has had a place in British history ever since daily rum rations were issued to all men aboard Royal Navy ships in 1655. As the story goes, it was the job of the junior midshipman to go below to draw the rum for the shop's company from the barrels - called "pigs". One day the junior officer arrived on deck drunk with the rum for the duty officer of the day. We saw their ad on the Surfside Players playbill and decided to stop in after today's matinee. Totally forgot that it was St. Patrick's day. It was packed but the food came fast and it was good. I even had dessert. We would come back because they support Surfside, but we will stop in again for the food and drinks, too.

very down to earth and wonderful food.
We got rained off the beach and stopped in for a bite. Super friendly service, good specials and great burgers. Authentic pub fare on the menu but the burgers caught our eyes. Not disappointed at all. But it was the great service from our bartender that gives the fifth star. Cheers.
