Pet Pad sells puppies from a high volume breeder. So far as I can tell, Pet Pad just discounts the dog until it's sold, and considering how over priced they are to begin with, I don't think they lose much money there. I go in every once in a while to play with the pups, after all, it's not their fault they are from a high volume breeder. 3 years ago, my boyfriend at the time bought a puppy for me from there because he felt sorry for her. She had been there for a month and discounted a couple times. The dog so far is healthy,... read more

What happens to unsold puppies? Does anyone know what happens to these puppies if they aren't purchased? Are they usually put down to sleep or sent somewhere else to try to be placed in another home? I know someone mentioned if they aren't bought in a certain time, they are usually put down. Even if they do come from a puppy mill, they are still puppies and need to be treated with love and a good home too. But I do agree, puppy mills are horrible and do not support them, I just feel bad for each of the animals, it's not thei... read more

Pet Pad is Puppy Mill Visited the store today... At first I was amazed by all of the animals they have there, and was glad to see MOST of them were in decent enviornments. Unfourtanatly , the puppy mill puppies are locked in small cages behind a glass wall. Something needs to be done about the puppies and puppy mills supplying this place.

Pet Pad is a Bad BAD place I was also there today and at first I thought it was nice. But as soon as I saw the dog cages I felt something fishy... I bought my dog from a place similar to this. And just recently I ran I check on my breeder and he was in jail for animal abuse. Meaning he was from a puppy mill. I felt HORRIBLE! But at the time I bought him I didn't know any better. So as I started to suspect this today I felt the urge to ask them where they got their puppies from and if they ran checks on their breeders. But my... read more

Terrible place Yes their staff is helpful and courteous most of the time. However, they treat their dogs in a manner that is not fit, well to coin a phrase... for a dog. I wouldn't trust them to run a prison in Cuba.

Calm Down Sheesh, many of you are vitriolic because you get to remain anonymous - get a grip. Are you the same people that ruined the pets page on Craigslist? Nothing is being abused in their store and if you have a problem with them, don't shop there. I'd much rather support a locally owned business than an impersonal chain - service at big box pet stores is no better. Employees at this store and larger chains are minimum-wage earners, so my expectations of their customer service abilities are pretty low to begin with. Are ... read more

PET PAD This place is horrible! We don't call it Pet Pad we call it PET BAD. I went in to find a backpack with a perch in it for my bird. It was like stepping into a time machine and going back to the eighties. The store had a glass fronted wall with Puppy Mill dogs in cages. They had very little play area. It came complete with fat people standing around and pointing while tapping the window. It is up to all of us to force places like this to change! By the way the smell was foul!
