Shut it down! Dear Jane S. and Stephen K, Although I agree with you that calling the Pet Pad itself a puppy mill is a bit erroneous I think it is important to question the source from which the doggies in the small 10 in x 10 in windows originate from. No Jane S. I too doubt that the Pet Pad in Cary is a puppy mill because none of the employees there are competent enough to breed two dogs. In fact, they were not even knowledgeable enough to provide me with paper work detailing where they recieved the puppies from. They purch... read more
They don't trust loyal customers!!! I have shopped at Pet Pad for 7 or 8 years as I want to support a local business. I do not ever buy dogs from a store, I meet the breeder in person and see the kennel for myself as well as adopt from agencies. But my main problem with this place is the owner has no customer service skills. The staff is pleasant so I overlooked the owners faults. I just bought crickets to feed our many frogs and lizards. I even asked the sales person that rang me up is everything was in the bag (I had so ma... read more
nice place i got my dog from this store 3 years ago got all the papers with him and everything do not regret my dission and the place is a business, they are there to make money that how a business works, i would hae no problem getting another dog from them
horrible needs to be chut down. This place is horrible and 100% has puppy mills puppies...first of all a real breeder does not produced that many puppies and puuies form differnt mixes. These puppies and this store has nothing but bad rewiews. The puppies are kept in glass cages and are very rude people. The prices of everything are $$$$$$$ as heck and they can not even tell you the size of a puppy fully grown. You can get puppies that are healthy for about 75% cheaper.
RUDE, MEAN owner, management and employees – This store is such a dissapointment in every way. Centrally located in Cary, feeding off Trader Joe's traffic....yet the employees are the rudest people I have ever come across in any store in a long time....The birds they sell are disgraceful....Marked WAAAAY up and fed nothing but seed mix and with filthy poopy water...A friend once made the mistake of buying a "hand-tamed" budgie from them. It died the next day! Their response was "oh well"...... Puppy mill puppies, pathetic pa... read more
Pet Pad sells puppies from a high volume breeder. So far as I can tell, Pet Pad just discounts the dog until it's sold, and considering how over priced they are to begin with, I don't think they lose much money there. I go in every once in a while to play with the pups, after all, it's not their fault they are from a high volume breeder. 3 years ago, my boyfriend at the time bought a puppy for me from there because he felt sorry for her. She had been there for a month and discounted a couple times. The dog so far is healthy,... read more
What happens to unsold puppies? Does anyone know what happens to these puppies if they aren't purchased? Are they usually put down to sleep or sent somewhere else to try to be placed in another home? I know someone mentioned if they aren't bought in a certain time, they are usually put down. Even if they do come from a puppy mill, they are still puppies and need to be treated with love and a good home too. But I do agree, puppy mills are horrible and do not support them, I just feel bad for each of the animals, it's not thei... read more
Pet Pad is Puppy Mill Visited the store today... At first I was amazed by all of the animals they have there, and was glad to see MOST of them were in decent enviornments. Unfourtanatly , the puppy mill puppies are locked in small cages behind a glass wall. Something needs to be done about the puppies and puppy mills supplying this place.
Pet Pad is a Bad BAD place I was also there today and at first I thought it was nice. But as soon as I saw the dog cages I felt something fishy... I bought my dog from a place similar to this. And just recently I ran I check on my breeder and he was in jail for animal abuse. Meaning he was from a puppy mill. I felt HORRIBLE! But at the time I bought him I didn't know any better. So as I started to suspect this today I felt the urge to ask them where they got their puppies from and if they ran checks on their breeders. But my... read more
