Late Nights – Moderate priced grub , good german beers. Nice for late nights.

Good but slow! – The beer list is great. The food is tasty. However, they're REALLY slow!! We sat down at 7:30 pm for just a beer and dinner and didn't leave until 9:15!! They also stuck an orange slice in a hefeweizen - what's up with that???

Midnight Fried Tomato Dreams – This is the best Ballard spot for late night eating. I think the bar serves until 1 am and I love the Fried Tomato Sandwich. It's served on rustic bread with herbed goat cheese and cucumbers. For more traditional barfood they offer fried mushrooms, french fries and a bunch of authentic german food. Really smokey and service is really friendly but *slows* when they're busy (somewhat under staffed on busy nights, it seems).

Stick with the beer – While the beer list makes the People's Pub worth a visit, the food just isn't that good. I've had GOOD german food (Sudwerk in Davis, CA) and found the food at People's Pub pretty mediocre. Definitely not worth a 'Best of' rating in my opinion.

superb – The food is excellent. The staff is friendly. Everyone who enters ends up having a good time even if they arrived in a bad mood.

Ein Bier, bitte... Danke schon! – People's Pub has a huge selection of German and domestic beers on tap (plus full bar), and the German food is just right. I go for the food, but end up staying for hours just to hang out. Just a top notch place to enjoy.

mellow and relaxed – this is a place so devoid of pretension it's like a home away from home. Go in the afternoon for a hearty meal and a pint or two.
