Stopped here for dinner several nights ago after driving for many hours on the Trans America Trail. We ordered the Reuben Sandwich, one of the best you will find anywhere, and the Brisket Barbecue Sandwich, along with the salad bar. After tasting the Reuben, I had Reuben envy! The owners are a very friendly, hardworking couple! On the next trip to Pickwick Dam we will stop here again and again and again. I hope the locals support this business.
I travel all over the country...and this is one of the top spots I’ve ever had the privalege to dine at. The food is delicious...and the service is second to none! The gift shop is lots of fun too! Can’t wait to return!
The last time we were at Pickwick- May of 2016 - we noticed The Outpost on our way out of town. We had just eaten so we did not get anything to eat. But we toured the different buildings they have there. We heard lots of compliments about Outpost and read all the good reviews about it. We are back at Pickwick and decided we would go to Outpost for dinner. Big disappointment. Had to wait for coffee to brew - then waitress forgot about it. Bob's baked beans were dried out. Just spent the weekend with these fine folks! Loved the room loved loved all the staff wonderful people. Highly recommend this place for a nice getaway great food great staff all around great place. Will be staying with them again soon i hope.
Terrific food, friendly staff and fun for the whole family. Homemade ice cream stand is amazing and so is the unique little shop! Hands down the best restaurant around!
Delicious breakfast! Cool antiques and friendly atmosphere..if passing thru you need to stop in and say hey y'all!
We had a IMRA cruise- in here over the weekend and the food was great, the service was great and a warm atmosphere. I really enjoyed hearing some Christian music playing also. I rated it a 5 only because I could find a 10. I will be back. I still have to try that banana � pudding and homemade ice cream I hear so much about :)
