I had a lovely evening here last night with a friend. The weather was perfect since it's right when the "dog days" of Summer seem to be wrapping up in the South and there is a slight crisp feeling in the air. We sat outside and started with cocktails. I went with my signature Old Fashioned - the house bourbon here is rather sweet and I definitely recommend trying it. This was my first time here. Great atmosphere, food, and service. The staff explained every dish or drink to us we wanted to order.👍🏾 We will visit again.
Glenn is hands-down the BEST bartender in the world. He has NEVER made me a drink I didn’t like. Sometimes I just tell him to surprise me and am never disappointed. If you want to learn about bourbon/whiskey, he has exhaustive knowledge he is happy to share. Do a few whiskey flights, and he is able to learn your taste preferences and make excellent recommendations. All the food is amazing as well, if you can put down your glass.
The food here was probably the best I have ever had and the servers are so nice and attentive. We are traveling for work and loved it so much we had to come back again the next night.
The Oak is one of my favorite places in Raleigh. I’ve become a regular. The food is incredible, the drinks are sublime, their bourbon selection is huge, and the entire staff there is simply superb. I have nothing but amazing things to say about The Oak. I’ve never had a bad meal or drink there. Ever. And every single person from management on down is absolutely outstanding. They make a phenomenal team. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out!!
