I hired The Miranda Team to conduct a radon test of my home after learning that it was Radon Awareness Month on their Facebook page. I never knew that there was a connection between lung cancer in non-smokers and radon. My mother had lung cancer as a non-smoker and it was certainly worth it to me to have my home tested. We had the pleasure of working with Marco for two home inspections during our house hunt. This fall, I had a natural gas line installed. The city inspector came out to assess the gas line installation. Upon reviewing the gas line, he had noticed that the domestic water line entering from the street is made of PVC pipes, which is not up to code (must be copper or PEX) and must be changed immediately. Had Pillar to Post notified me that PVC pipe is used for drainage and not for potable water (drinking water), I would have had this issue addressed by the home seller. City Building Inspectors will check on things in your home to make sure they are up to building code and sometimes they will look at things that they aren't there for. During a home inspection a Home Inspector is checking to make sure your systems are working and for safety, it is not a code inspection.
