We had fish and chips. Quite good! Nice seating inside and out.
I’ve keep coming back to the Mariner in Mystic for the clam chowder. It really stands out in so many ways. Unlike any other in complexity, lots of clams, perfect texture, minced carrots and celery, a hint of bacon, some unusual spices, potatos are there, but just to encourage the clams. Really a full meal in itself. I got a bowl rather than a cup. Most memorable in a sea of chowders. I’m ggoing 9.1 out of 10. A record, in my chowder book. P.S. Lily had the French Onion soup and it too was remarkable. No need for an Entree.
Great food with exceptional service
Good service but everything was bland. For what they charge you expect certain level of quality. Ordered the seared scallops on corn risotto and there wasn’t a drop of seasoning. Even the lemonade tasted watered down. Surprised how recommended this place is locally. Again great service and friendly staff.
