Great field trip experience. Highly recommend!
The Marine Mammal Center does amazing work, but it's truly a shame the employees aren't paid a fair, living wage. This organization would do well to increase wages to at least allow workers to afford basic necessities, because as it stands, workers aren't even paid enough to afford rent. As previously mentioned, the work the center does is amazing and worthy of recommendation; it's just a shame the center takes advantage of its employees.
Hi there I would recommend that you visit and see what is going on at the Marine Mammal Center. I went a few years back when my daughter Kate worked there and really enjoyed the whole project surrounding the rescue and repatriation of sea mammals. This project only works by the dedication of many people whom love animals and their habitat. Fond memories with best wishes to all of you hard working people at the center.
such a wonderful place to visit with the family to see the awesome work being done for the sea mammals. to see location in the care they give it's wonderful
You can take the tour or walk around on your own. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. It's reassuring to be able to see sea life taken care of, rehabilitated, returned home. My kids were really impressed that this wasn't a zoo, that the animals got to go home afterward. Be aware that it can be chilly on the coast, but this is a really lovely stop that is well worth it. And make sure to check out the gift shop!
Interesting facts about rescue and treatment of marine mammals on the California coast. Unfortunately our group was kept on a platform above the pens holding the “patients” and that was too far away for viewing.
An amazing place. We throughly enjoyed our visit and Adam did a fantastic presentation. Not to be missed for sure!
Very interesting place to visit , my kids loved! We definitely will return soon.
