My good friend took me here to show off her new "spot" since moving to the Augusta area! The food was great and I especially liked the atmosphere!

Two generous pints of Alewife Ale, a Turkey Club, and either coleslaw or hot garlic smashed potatoes has been my lunch of choice since they opened. Bernie Slofer and I would work at the Viles Arboretum all morning and hit The Liberal Cup for lunch. Now, we honor the tradition each time we are in Maine. Of course, we have enjoyed dinner there many times, too, but our favorite time was lunch. We always take our ladies, and they love it, also.

Excellent food! Homemade deliciousness, generous portions and great prices! Love me some Bug Lager! The Clam Chowder is unmatched by any - even J's in the Old Port! I highly recommend The Liberal Cup any day over any of the chain restaurants. Try it, you'll love it!
