I like living here. There are a few less than positive things. (What place can you go that doesn't have a problem neighbor or two?) It's nice and clean on the outside. The management team is responsive to maintenance requests. It's usually a quiet place, but it does get cranked up sometimes. Of course, it's an apartment complex so they can't really keep loud people out. The bedrooms are smaller than I expected, but large enough. This year will be three years I've lived at the Lakes. While there are a lot of good things about it (relatively safe area, no bug problems, etc.), I've noticed a slow decline in the quality of the property as well as the tenants. Streetlight and breezeway lights not fixed, people letting their dogs run around without leashes, trash, beer bottles, and piles of cigarette butts everywhere, etc. My upstairs neighbor's kids stomp around and scream all hours of the day/night. The management is un professional and discriminates against soldiers and service animals. I will never rent from the lakes again and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
This is home! I first moved here in 2009. I moved back home with my parents for about a year or so and when I wanted to move back, The Lakes was my first choice. People tried talking me out of it but I didn't change my decision. I've really gotten to know most of the staff here. Sure, there are going to be small things here and there that I may not like, but anywhere you live will have that. When we 1st moved here in 2009 it was a great place...the ground were kept up and maintenance was on top of things...management was very good...the sprinklers would come on and water the grass in the summer....the garbage was picked up...they came around and checked smoke alarms and most importantly pest control was here on a regular basis.....Now the grass is burnt...I don't know when they have replaced the straw around the buildings...Bushes in front of the apts have not been cut and trimmed...almost making the apt look ab... read more
