About this business

Well off the beaten path, The Joint serves up what is often argued as the best barbecue in the Crescent City. Passersby may miss this tiny barbecue café at first glance, but the fragrant smell of the smoking meat keeps the restaurant going unnoticed. The Joint menu features all of the barbecue basics including brisket, pulled pork, chicken and ribs. Side options include cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans. Finish a meal with a slice of pecan, key lime, or peanut butter pie. - Bethany Culp

Best BBQ in the city. The Brisket and Ribs are my faves, along with the potato salad and the macaroni and cheese, but their pulled pork is awesome and the sausage has a great spice to it! This is where my husband and I take visitors to our city when they've had enough of the traditional New Orleans food and want to have a casual, laid back lunch. Excellent.

The flavor was great. The ribs were tender. Just didn't care for the sauces.

I love this place! A local tipped me off to it years ago, and it was so good last time that I went back two nights in a row on this trip! Low key atmosphere, cool art on the walls, and the staff picks the music, and battle over it which is entertaining. Service was great, too. The first night I had pulled pork and mac and cheese. The pork was tender and flavorful, really smokey as it should be. The mac and cheese was thick and gooey, not runny, with lots of pepper... but that's how I love it! The second night I had brisket a... read more
