The Joint

About this business

Well off the beaten path, The Joint serves up what is often argued as the best barbecue in the Crescent City. Passersby may miss this tiny barbecue café at first glance, but the fragrant smell of the smoking meat keeps the restaurant going unnoticed. The Joint menu features all of the barbecue basics including brisket, pulled pork, chicken and ribs. Side options include cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans. Finish a meal with a slice of pecan, key lime, or peanut butter pie. - Bethany Culp

Everything is so good. The ribs are tender and a little spicy, the brisket falls apart with a nice bark around the edges, the pulled pork is juicy. Cole slaw is a little vinegary for my taste, but I really don't like vinegar. The pecan pie is great, has a hint of bourbon Service is fast and friendly, the place has a down-home New Orleans neighborhood look and feel. Guess I'll be making the trip from the West Bank often...

Great food for adults and kids with fast service. We loved it. Chicken and ribs were delicious. Kids loved the Mac N' cheese. Baked beans were the best around.

Had no idea of where I was going, but everyone I asked about ribs told me to go to The Joint. Best BBQ ribs I ever had!

The brisket and ribs were very tender. Had the burnt ends and they were delish. Pulled pork sucked.

The BEST barbecue outside the state of Texas. Great neighborhood restaurant full of fun, great food and lively neighborhood characters. A not to be missed experience in the Marigny/Bywater neighborhood.
