The Joint

About this business

Well off the beaten path, The Joint serves up what is often argued as the best barbecue in the Crescent City. Passersby may miss this tiny barbecue café at first glance, but the fragrant smell of the smoking meat keeps the restaurant going unnoticed. The Joint menu features all of the barbecue basics including brisket, pulled pork, chicken and ribs. Side options include cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans. Finish a meal with a slice of pecan, key lime, or peanut butter pie. - Bethany Culp

3 meat plate was really good. Brisket was moist and well season. Sausage had good snap and spice. Ribs was good. Had the last couple of ribs on the rack. One was ok the other was dry. They need to square their rack before cooking.

While visiting New Orleans on our week long vacation my wife and I grew tired of eating Cajun food..A Google search of "diners drive in's and dives New Orleans" turned up "The joint" A quick Uber ride from the French quarter.. The BBQ there was absolutely amazing! The staff was okay but it was later in the evening and they weren't very busy.. The prices were excellent too!! Just remember to order your food before you sit down..guess that is the thing there...

Very delicious! Everything was delicious, all the meat is tender and it falls off the bones then melts in your mouth. Their sauces are delicious, better than ANY store bought bbq sauce I've ever had. I love that they let dogs in, it shows how nice they are. We will definitely be eating there again!

I've noticed a lot of dumb tourist reviews on here I'm hoping to offer a little more local insight here. Louisiana is not know for BBQ and doesn't have a style. Having said that, a scene has blossomed here in New Orleans the last several years and it's truly a beautiful thing. The Joint is part of that movement. This is food made with character. There's a blend of styles here. I get some memories of Austin and Memphis in this stuff. Chicken is great, ribs are the best and the brisket is perfect for those that skip pork. Eat ... read more
