The red snapper and the oxtails were very good. I am planning to go back on a Friday night and see what the vibe is like.
My experience was ok but my friend didn't like the customer service, or lack of, from the manager. She felt he was very rude. Our server was GREAT. Hate that I forgot her name, she hasn't been working there long. We ordered wings and they were amazing but the drinks weren't strong. The manager said it was because it was happy hour drinks and they weren't looking to get us drunk. Went to have lunch because we wanted to support. Our group was from the Caribbean and even if we called in advance service was still as poor as it could be. The waitress was frustrated for some reason and after waiting for 2 & 45mins I finally got my “wings and fries” and not to mention not getting my fried plantains because of a confusion in the kitchen. Everyone was upset about the situation and no one seemed to feel sorry but rather the waiter displayed an attitude because she had messed up one of our orders.
I must say that the Island Spot was great. Having lived in New York for some time and then relocate to Texas. I have been looking for a good West Indian Restaurant for some time . My friend refer me to this spot and I must say the food and service was great. I had the oxtails and rice and peas. Oh it was delicious. And my husband had the Mama Joyce Fried Chicken and he loved it. We would most certainly be back. We drove from Grand Prairie, Texas and it was well worth it
The food was delicious, and the bread pudding was the best I'd had in a long time. Nicole the waitress that served my wife and I was very pleasant and nice welcoming us to Dallas. I will be back to enjoy another meal very soon....also the rum punch was on point!!
Authentic Jamaican brunch. Highly recommend the jerk chicken omelette and the mango mimosa
