Cocktails were a hit. Meats(porkchops, lamb, filet, salmon burger and ribs) were great. Side dishes not so good. Baked potato undercooked, turnip fries undercooked and flavorless. All the desserts we tried were flat and flavorless. The crisp fruits were not ripe. The bread pudding was tasty but the crust was too hard and inedible. Came to celebrate my aunt's birthday. Had Tyrel for a server, and every aspect of service was fantastic. Perfect beat-pause, two minute check, drink service. If i could take the Independent back to D.C. with me I would!
I just love the Independent - love the ambiance of the outdoor dining and food is always delicious. So happy we have this great restaurant in Placerville
Really Good food, for a good price and dam good service.
I only had soup and salad as I was not in the mood for something heavy. The Wild Cream of Mushroom soup was absolutely delicious. The wedge salad I wasn't too impressed with, the dressing was runny and didn't taste like blue cheese. I stole a bite of my sons burger and I wished I'd ordered that.
