The Homestead 1854 is a true gem. I have been photographing weddings in the Chicagoland area for over 10 years, and when my bride, Sarah, contacted me to photograph her wedding here, I was so excited. I love the opportunity to photograph at new, out of the ordinary, locations, and this venue did not disappoint. My mom, my friend, and I went to The Homestead 1854 for a wine pairing dinner with Spanish tapas, which was a fabulous evening on their outdoor covered patio. After enjoying the bonfire, we spent the night in the adjoining bedrooms, and Mary Kaye and Chet made us feel so welcome and pampered. The estate had so much historic charm, and breakfast was out of this world! Thank you for a wonderful experience - we will be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience staying at The Homestead. We stayed in the Kollat Room and truly felt so at home that we slept better than ever. Normally, we aren't this lucky away from home. It was so comfortable. This luxurious place will definitely be a destination in the near future. An incredible evening was had by all at Homestead 1854, Beer Pairing Dinner last night. Owners Mary Kay and Chet were so gracious and welcoming. The food from Chef Rachel Conover was fresh, safisticated and absolutely delicious! The beer pairing with each course was excellent.
