This could be an issue! – It seems that the staff, has to go online and then defend there awful working habbits.Lets be honest here! You cant just hire a bunch of hot chicks who dont have the proper training and experience and a manager who obviously has no clue about the hospitality business, and then think that the place is going to be a sucsess. This place has one of the best menus for a sports bar that I have seen on the west coast hands down.Yet its run by a bunch of donkeys and a management staff that in all fairness,is ... read more
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! HORRIBLE – As a former bar manager maybe I am a little tougher than most but this place is honestly the worst bar I have been to in Hollywood - and that is saying a lot. The female bartenders are slow, inexperienced, and unattentive. The management is awful. Im not exactly sure which guys were actually the managers because I saw a few drinking, sexually harrassing the staff, and PUTTING THEIR DIRTY HANDS IN THE ICE WELL - THE SAME ICE THE DRINKS WERE BEING MADE WITH. I assume they had this free reign b... read more
Bad customer service, cold food, average food – We tried the Happy Ending as part of LA Restaurant week. The fish tacos were cold the first time they came out and tasty after we sent them back. The Kobe Beef Burger was overcooked and tasted like something you would get at Burger King. As was the eggplant parmesan sandwich, flavorless and chewy. The banana cheesecake dessert was great, but given all the other factors not worth coming back for. We even spoke to the manager on duty and told him that we would not be back. He sai... read more
hearing one thing and saying another... – In response to the last review, I would like to add my two cents. I was actually in the booth next to the people who wrote the last review and overheard the conversation that took place between the manager and the customers. I specifically heard the manager not only apologize and buy them a round of drinks, but ask the customers what he could do to bring them back for another try. The response, If I recall correctly, was something along the lines of "there is nothing you can offer us... read more
Cool Bar Succumbs to Hollywood – Since the majority of reviews were written in October, let me give you a update of where this seemingly ?local sports bar? has now become. Upon it?s opening, I was thrilled there was finally an actual sports bar in Hollywood. Still an Acapulco, but at least there?s TVs. The management and waitstaff WAS attentive and seemed extremely concerned about keeping the customer happy. I have been their numerous times, due to the great location and food. However, upon going there during a busy NFL Sund... read more
i so agree with the last posting! – the food and the service were great upon opening. i was there a couple of weeks ago, and the attitude was terrible. staff acted like they hated management, and for good reason, there was a big dumb looking manager type yelling at one of the red pant suit wearing waitresses. my group and i ordered about 4 things off the menu, most of them didnt have the same flavor or special presentation that they did when they opened. we asked the glass eyed waitress if something different was going on in... read more
Fun, Loud, Great food – So I live just a couple blocks from this place and used to come here when it was the Acapulco. After seeing the marquee stating "genuine New York pizza" I had to find out if it was true. A former NYCer myself, I had to do the taste test. It was a Saturday night and the place was hopping. It was a mostly younger crowd and the flat screen TVs were showing some reality show on MTV. Aside from it being noisy (yeah, I'm old) I LOVED the food! The pizza was thin crust - as it should be - and the marinara sa... read more
A new place for you to try – Checked it out a few Saturdays ago. always looking for a good sports bar. Met several of the owners. Nice guys. Service the second Saturday was better. the Menu is a bit pricey. It would be nice to have at least a few items that are less than $7. Food was good. Nice presentation. First time had the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Had to send the soup back to make it hot. Chinese chicken salad was very good and cool presentation. Second time had the onion rings (not the spicey kind for m... read more
always nice to read the good reviews!!! BUT...... – chef matthew gladstone here... and i appreciate everything that y'all wrote!! the idea of blending my upscale lounge dining with a more casual fun bar... seemed like a great idea, however, its time for me to return to my roots far far far far away from loud sports bars!! * The Happy Ending is a terrific fun place, and hopefully the concepts that i have developed will remain, either way,.... look for my name soon in a venue that is more suited to my fun quirky style with won... read more
