About this business

Once a German restaurant, the Greenbriar revamped its menu and renovated its space and now dishes up fancy American fare in a spacious, bright setting. The restaurant, built in 1879 as a pioneer home and general store, offers views of wild flower filled meadows, and the landmark Flatirons (The) menu features fine dining favorites, including Beef Wellington and Glazed Roasted Duck, as well as curious entrees like the Seared Ostrich Filet. Pasta and vegetarian dishes are also offered. The Sunday brunch is very popular with the ... read more

Great place for a wedding or event We had our wedding ceremony and reception here and were so impressed with the property, food and service that was provided to us. The view is great--it's nestled right at the base of Colorado's foothills. The only downside is its proximity to HWY 36, which means that you'll get traffic noise outside. The banquet staff is very laid-back and made me feel at ease. They were willing to accommodate special requests at no extra charge--like making signature drinks I created and specially decorati... read more

Disappointed – Went to Greenbriar in Feb 2011, I was extremely disappointed. My wife and I ordered appetizers, dinner and deserts and only 2 of the 6 dishes were really good. Portion size was terrible, my wife's fillet was about 4oz. We eat out about 3 times a week and higher quality restaurants usually have smaller portions than your local Chili's but this was ridiculous. We made reservations about a month in advance and the table was ready when we got there. Decor was nice and the service was very good. I wish I could reme... read more

Business response:

Jim & Kristen or Ski1990, As I said in our email communication the other day I'm sorry you felt that our portions were too small, but it was a tasting menu for the Denver Restaurant week, three courses for $ 26.40 per person and we also included a amuse. I'm supprised you didn't understand that when you visited us on March 5th for dinner, since you also joined us last year for the same offer. We have had hundreds of very positive and glowing complements this year and served over 1800 quest in the last 10 days. I would also l... read more

outstanding fine dining experiance – This place has always been a favorite! The service is like nothing you find on pearl street or anywhere else in Boulder. Unrivaled wine list and delicious menu! The duck rendered crisp is the best I have ever had and the Caesar an attraction in itself! Nowhere else does a spectacular table-side preparation like the service staff here! Great for special occasions or just a nice place to catch up with some good friends and really dine.

Not what it used to be! – In the past we have enjoyed our dining experience at the Greenbriar. This year it was a bit of a nightmare. The service was terrible; our server was unable to keep the drink orders straight, our food orders were confused and delivered to the wrong people, and in the end the food came at different times and it took a while before we all had our food. We all agreed the food was not very good. The spinach salad was tasteless and overwilted, the prime rib full of fat, and the desserts could easily have ... read more

Think twice before your next visit!! – THINK TWICE BEFORE YOUR NEXT VISIT!! Our last visit to the Greenbriar Inn was in 2009, and everything was wonderful. The food was amazing, high quality, and the dessert spectacular. However, we just went in Oct 2010 and they must have changed managers or chefs. The food was absolutely disgusting! Left with a really bad stomach ache. All the buffet items were luke-warm at best. Fish was overcooked. The lamb tasted really old. The buffet serving dishes were so close together that you had ... read more

how can the waitress call my home phone asking tips!!! – I always had the good image about Greenbriar before, but last time, I ate with my daughter there and they neglect us the whole time. We wanted to change the seat and nobody even came back and do nothing for us, then, the food was really normal too, plus they charge my 9 years old daughter the same price like me, so I left without tipping, she called me back to my house and left message asking for tips. I donot think I will ever go back there anymore.

Excellent food, Interesting Menu I've always considered the Greenbrian Inn a special occasion restaurant, probably because they always treat you very special. They have a great menu and there is always something unusual or unexpected added to the mix. Definitely make reservations, it not the kind of place you can just walk in, and it's book most of the time. That should be a testament in itself as to how good the food is.
